{A Hike} Tennessee Valley Trail

The Old Spring, Miwok, Wolf Ridge, Coastal, and Tennessee Valley Loop 4,8 miles, moderate. Approximately 2-3 hours

20 minutes away from San Francisco is the Tennessee Valley Trail. It is located in the Marin Headlands and is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. There are many hiking trails throughout the area but the trail loop that takes you through a good amount of Tennessee Valley is The Old Spring, Miwok, Wolf Ridge, Coastal, and Tennessee Valley Loop. It is a total of 4.8 miles and although it is considered moderate there is some incline around the trail but it is completely doable – just something to keep in mind.

While you are there don’t forget to stop at Tennessee Beach, it is a very beautiful and serene location tucked away in this part of the Marin Headlands. This is a great trail for families and if you are only looking to hike to the beach area, The Tennessee Valley Trail will be about 3,4 miles and should take about 1 hour out and back.

Dogs are not permitted on this trail.
